As high season draws to a close I want to give thanks for the swells & clear water we recently experienced. This season itself was pretty small surf for the most part but come March & April swells got cranking & we made up for lost ground. You can see in previous episodes we had fun surf the entire season but nothing like the past couple of weeks. Rain is starting to roll in now, crowds are dropping off & Nosara is expecting slowest rainy season & a while business wise. So hit me up if you want to book house or invest in property or just want to play music. Norway is the guest musician & it was great jamming with him. If you’re good enough you might end up on a TWIN video or part of one of our albums (several being worked on right now). Hope you enjoy TWIN 70 :)

Big swell just came through with hard offshore winds so bunch of this footage in here, we journey all sides of Pelada then take a ride to Main Beach Guiones, all kinds of locals ripping & we explore surf each day for the past week. Hope you enjoy the music it’s some new stuff alongside us After Surf Band folk & new guests passing through who rip. These are live takes w/behind the scenes in hearing how improvised songs came to be. Shout out to Tall Danny & Norway for being on a couple of the tracks you hear.

This Week in Nosara is a little longer this week because we have a couple extra days in the footage. Spent a ton of time editing this & also played the music you hear along with various musicians who have passed through town in past weeks. The surf was pretty outstanding late this week & early week to late last week was small to mid sized & clean. Had a ton more fun in the bigger stuff as you will clearly see in TWIN 64; but in the smaller stuff had a great time surfing with with Kaiya & Elisha. Saturdays are bodysurf day with Coach Herbert & as you will see it was stunningly beautiful. Stay tuned for more of this footage as Elisha, his friend Ziggy & Singer & Tattoo Rhea will be providing us ongoing footage. Speaking of Singer Rhea, she’s in on this music along with visitor Tuck & Tall Danny, Tom & Ukulele Joe & rich for first song. 2nd song is Tuck, Tall Danny, Ukulele Joe, Rich & special guest on box & I can’t remember who all else. 3rd song Bosco, Rhea & rich (me) & between the 3 songs hopefully there’s something you enjoy. Shout out to HipSea & LuvBurger for hosting Wednesday music night last week… That went well & we might try it again. Saturdays we will stick with Olo Alaia for next week or 2 to make sure staying there. For Wednesdays though we might be bouncing to HipSea to see how it goes.

This Week in Nosara 66 is recap of surf, community & lifestyle scenes from this past week. Music in this is Bosco & rich (me) in the Harmony Recording Studio laying down the bass & electric guitar tracks for upcoming song called Boca la Playa. Unfortunately our acoustic guitarist Tom passed away last week & in this episode we recap his paddle out which happened on Wednesday. The turnout & surf was great. Pray for Tom’s family & friends as we’re all going to miss surfing with him & playing music. Community section hits BALANCE the new art exhibition at GONA above Surfing Nosara, Bomberos putting out fires, WCA water quality report, Dreamcatchers starting new initiative to get retreats involved in helping local kids, Costas Verdes continues to help bring the forest back to the sea thanks to companies like Shift who both donate & physically help. Hopefully others join in. That’s about it for now… See you all in the water & let us know what else we can do to help provide the content you want to see.

This Week in Nosara for early March is a good one! All kinds of good surf, strong reminders from pro surfer Dorian unless born in Costa Rica we can’t be locals & native Costa Ricans should always get priority & owning a house does not quality anyone for being a local. Agua Tibia’s Tico Jason Mamoa is extremely happy & positive every single day… New guy Luis is learning to surf & drives 45 minutes every day to work. Jefe Adrian has an elegant hat :) Kaiya from Surfing Nosara provides land based footage & there’s a bunch more. Hope you enjoy this one!

This was my day, February 22, 2025. Woke up and surfed really good waves with my daughter, Kaiya. Then went to Olo Alaia and made this music with outstanding musicians. Singer Rhea freestyled these words after I showed up late to band practice because waves were so good. It was fun & I hope enjoy a look into a fun day in my life. richburnam.com

It’s Christmas week & time for This Week in Nosara #54. We take a look at surf, the community from above by section, have an organic market Tuesday race down Calle Modelo between 1986 Landcruiser & a jogger lady, and all kinds of other hard hitting, serious, you need to know it type information overflowing in these TWIN vlogs (sarcasm intended). One of my favorite sections is drone views from Boca Nosara, Playa Pelada, the Pelada Hill, Playa Guiones, Las Huacas from north to south. That’s my current screen saver it helps me remember how lucky I am while balancing the pros & cons of Nosara. Music is from Xmas night jam Olo Alaia with ‘Singer & Hand Poked Tattoo Rhea’ & ‘Guitar Mac’ from Cape Cod (I’ve incorrectly been calling him Carolina Mac but it’s adjusting to Guitar Mac). We improvised this song “Muddy Xmas” & hope you enjoy it. Maybe next year the After Surf Band will have its own Xmas album of originals at minimum bluegrass versions of traditional songs. Anyways, hope you enjoy TWIN #54.
